Melissa Hansen
Melissa is Continue Mission's Executive Director and President of the Board of Directors. She experienced military life through supporting her husband, CM co-founder Josh, when he joined the Army and served two tours of duty in Iraq. She took care of the Hansen home-front while Josh served our great country and then ended her career as a Chemical Engineer to take on the challenge of helping Josh through his healing process once he returned from service with a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress as well as neck and back injuries. Melissa is always happy to reach out to support members of Veterans and can empathize with the challenges they have endured and continue to endure. She teaches NAMI Homefront to family and loved ones of Veterans and Service Members. Melissa has completed QPR (question, persuade, refer) training, CONNECT Suicide Postvention training, GATEWAY Suicide Prevention training, NAMI Homefront instructor’s course, Developmental Assets and Intentioal Relationships workshop, paddleboard instructor training, First Aid, and CPR. Melissa represents CM for the Davis HELPS Coalition, Local Coordinated Council UTA meetings, and Woods Cross City Community of Promise. Melissa also has a certificate of completion for the U of U's Non-Profit Academy of Excellence. Melissa is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is on the board of directors and plays her saxophone for The Harmonic Winds of Utah community band. She also volunteers time playing with the Golden Years Jazz band for assisted living homes in Davis County. Melissa and Josh have been married since 1994 and have three beautiful children and two grandsons.
